Objectives:

Students will use this "treasure map" as an agenda for the week. They will use all resources with in it to complete tasks and assignments that focus on: inferencing, literary elements and how they add to the meaning of the story, comparing/contrasting characters and time periods with originial literature, picking a part character actions & drawing conclusions about how those drive the plot, using context clues to determine unknown words & creating their own, using diverse media to practice these skills.

Standards:

7.RC.3 - Analyze how literature’s structural elements contribute to its meaning and plot. 7.RC.1 - Analyze text explicitly as well as draw inferences through citing several pieces of text evidence. 7.RC.4 - Compare /contrast a fictional portrayal of a time, place, or character and a historical account of same period as a means of understanding how authors of fiction use or alter history. 7.RC.6 - Analyze the interactions between individuals, events, and ideas in a text 7.RC.10 - Use context to determine or clarify the meaning of words and phrases. 7.CC.4 - Analyze the main ideas and supporting details presented in diverse media and formats & explain how ideas clarify topic, text, or issue
