We don't like to bore. We don't want to be repetitive. Communicating as usual bores and doesn't engage. We do it differently. We sabotage boredom. We create what the brain likes to consume because it stimulates it.
Interactive step-by-step visual communication:
- Plan your communication structure.
- Prioritize and give visual weight to the main points.
- Define secondary messages with interactivity.
- Establish a flow throughout the content.
- Measure the results.
Write an awesome headline
Pose a dramatic question; it is the essential ingredient to keep the audience's attention. It is usually posed in a subtle way at the beginning of the story to intrigue the audience and is resolved at the end.
Account Management
The Medical Necessity tab in Open Uro is like our GPS. It guides us as we navigate each patient's insurance requirements, and assists us in determining next steps on the patient's account. Each MN tab is tailored to that specific patient, their plan, and their supplies, and is connected to other aspects of the patient's account. Changes we make in the MN tab will have effects elsewhere, and vice versa.
Write an awesome headline
Our brain is wired to consume visual content. Some data: 90% of the information we process comes through our eyes, and we process visual content up to 60,000 times faster than text. That's why visual communication is more effective.
A cool title
We better grasp visual content. Visual content is associated with cognitive and psychological mechanisms. Things come in through the eyes, the first image is what counts. We associate visual content with emotions.
Preventing Delays in Shipments
When we think of the Medical Necessity tab as the "GPS" of a patient account and use it as a main reference point of the patient's account, we are ensuring that we keep the patient's account in good standing and preventing any delays in shipments or interruptions to care.
What does Medical Necessity refer to?
When we help patients receive their incontinence supplies through their Medicaid plan, each step we take essentially comes back to Medical Necessity:
- Does the patient have a valid medical need for supplies?
- Do we have sufficient documentation, per Medicaid, to support that medical need?
- Are the supplies and quantities we are sending appropriate for this patient's needs?
When we use the Medical Necessity tab in Open Uro to help us answer these questions, we can be confident that we are taking appropriate steps to meet the patient's specific Medicaid requirements for their supplies.
Required Documentation
The Medical Necessity tab advises us of exactly what type(s) of documentation we must obtain for the patient's supplies. It also answers the following:
- What form(s) do we need completed?
- Do we need to obtain notes from a doctor's visit?
- Do these notes have to be from a specific timeframe?
- Is there specific verbiage that these notes must contain?
- Will these notes expire, and if so, when?
- Will we need to apply for a prior authorization for any of these supplies?

Insurance Guidelines
Any time we discuss Medical Necessity, we are referring to the specific guidelines set forth by a patient's particular Medicaid plan. Ultimately, insurance informs us of 1) what products we can provide patients, 2) qualifying demographic info such as age & diagnosis information, and 3) what type(s) of documentation we must obtain in order to meet Medical Necessity requirements.
