Social Studies: Civil Rights and African American History
Learning Goal
I will remember important laws and cases during the Civil Rights Movement.
The judicial branch houses something called the Supreme Court. They make a lot of decisions about whether or not something is constituional.
A lot of very big court cases that have given equal rights to African Americans had to pass through the Supreme Court in order to be enforced.
The legislative branch is responsible for passing laws that are constitutional. They often pass laws following Supreme Court decisions.
