Understanding the Replenishment Process at Walmart
Items are automatically replenished based on the on hands through the POS (point of sale) system.
For example: The item has on hand of 15, a case pack of 6, and has a shelf capacity of 22. There is 0 in backroom, 6 in transit and 6 in warehouse. When the OH drops below the trigger point an auto reorder will be placed. (that’s why exact inventory is critical) Items that have had no movement over a time period will be taken out of the auto replenishment system.
When an item reaches over a case quantity on hand vs shelf capacity the system will automatically generate an order for necessary number of cases.
On hand accuracy must be maintained properly for items to replenish automatically in the correct manner. As the Retail Representative for our client, it is important that you are ensuring on hand accuracy in store during your visits
