Greetings and Welcome to Advanced Canva Strategies for Educators!
My name is Deb Ulrich and I am excited to be facilitating our exploration of Canva and its use in education. My hope is that by the end of this course you have gained ideas of how to extend the use of Canva in your classroom in different and exciting ways. This lesson will walk you through some basics about our course. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. I care about your success in this course and look forward to our learning together.
What are we going to learn?
So this is the section, where I type in the objectives for the course. If you scroll down and click on the blue stars, you will see them at the bottom of this page. But here it is in a nutshell. We will be learning how to use more advanced features of Canva to customize your projects and streamline your workflow.
Course Objectives
Participants will plan and create new features in Canva based on student needs.Participants will apply best practices in pedagogy and digital instruction.
Self Pace Course Length
The AEA sets up self paced courses to last for 12 weeks. If you find that 12 weeks isn't enough time, please send me an email. I can extend the time allowed for the course. Need an Extension? If you need an extension, the AEA allows you to do that on your end.
- Login to https://training.aealearningonline.org/
- Click on My Trainings and Courses in the top menu.
- Find the Correct Course Tile and click the Extend Course Button.
- The course will be extended for 30 days. You can repeat this process as needed.
If there has been a significant period of inactivity you may be asked to go back and restart the course.
What are we going to learn?
For this course you must complete 7 of the 11 listed modules. 3 modules are required and you may choose the remaining 4 modules. Required modules are marked with a "red box" and optional modules are marked with a "purple box". I encourage you to open each module and take a look at the module overview to get an idea if it appeals to you. Also, don't let the module length fool you. Some modules look really long. They aren't. Most of the items are examples of what you could do.

How are we going to evaluate?
Grading Scale
Grading for this course is as follows: 90% or higher = A 80% - 89% = B or Pass 70% - 79% = C 60% - 69% = D You must achieve a B or better to pass. Contact the instructor if you have concerns or need a time extension.
What Do You Remember?
You must get 100% on the formative quizzes.
Must complete all modules in the course.
Assignments must be completed as written.
For discussions you need 1 post and 2 replies.
A "C" in this course will pass and receive credit.
You have only 12 weeks to complete the course.
