Element 1

Anchor

An anchor is an introduction to a project that provides a real-world connection from the project to authentic situations that may happen outside of school (Bender, 2012; Larmer & Mergendoller, 2010).

Element 2

Task

A task narrows and focuses project work by providing a specific item to complete (Bender, 2012; larmer & Mergendoller, 2010).

Element 3

Student Choice

Students have a choice in what project they create, what roles they take, how to complete a project, resources to use, and how they want it to be formatted.

Element 4

Student Inquiry

it is the student's responsiblity to find sources they will incorporate into their project.

Element 5

Student Reflection

This includes brainstorming, journaling, and discussions between students or themselves.

Element 6

Public Presentation

This presentation should be cohesive with the actual project. Depending on what the project is will depend on how it is presented in front of an audience.

Element 7

Directions

These tell a student what they will need to do in order to complete a project or a task.

Element 8

Collaboration and Teamwork

This is where students will work in groups with their peers to complete a project or a task.

Element 9

Teacher Coaching and Feedback

This is where a teacher will provide feedback to their students and will encourage them and provide them with details on how to fix or improve something.
