Online Impact In Student's Lives

This standard will be aimed toward 3rd graders who own a cellphone. This standard explains the impact digital bullying can have on someone, and how we should properly use our phones. Phones are not for bullying, they are to be used in a safe manner at all times. The subject area we will be focusing on is English.
ISTE Standard
1.2.a Digital Footprint: Students manage their digital identity and understand the lasting impact of their online behaviors on themselves and others and make safe, legal, and ethical decisions in the digital world.
State Standard
RL.3.4 Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text, distinguishing literal from nonliteral language.

NINE ELEMENTS:Anchor- Will be used to anchor both standards together. This will be used at the beginning of the lesson when explaining the standards. This will show the students how the two standards go toegther. Task- Will be what the students do to complete the lesson. The task will be used after the standards are taught, and the lesson. The students will mainly focus on their task. Directions- Will be used to explain to the students what they will be completing. This will be used towards the beginning of the lesson. This will let the students know what they need to do. Student Choices- Will be used by the students. to determine their performance on the lesson. Students will chose how they go about the assignment. This will be used before the task element.
Student Inquiry- Students will use this to come up with questions and ideas when beginning the lesson. Students will work together to decide on the best method for the lesson. Collaboration and Teamwork- Will be used during the whole lesson. Students will work together to discuss what they are being taught, and collaborate with their ideas and thoughts. Teacher Coaching and Feedback- The teacher will use this element during and after the lesson. The teacher will provide help and feedback to allow students to improve in any area they need. Student Reflection- Students will reflect on their work after they are done. Students will talk back and forth about their completed work. This will help the students with any improvements they might need. Public Presentation- Students will complete a presentation of their work at the very end. Students will show what knowledge they have gained and what their thoughts are on the topic. Students will be evaluated during their presentation to determine their grade.
