What you should know:

Affiliations are used to assign an attribute, characteristic, or other CRM related tag to an account or contact. Multiple affiliations can be assigned to an account or contact. The affiliations assigned to accounts and contacts can then be used to filter or group the accounts for various uses such as campaign assignment, account outreach, newsletter distribution, incentives or promotions, and so on. Although not covered in this Quick Start course, affiliations can be included in Affiliation Groups. This can lead to better identification and targeting of accounts, or simply provide better organization when affiliations are used extensively.
