BRITISH STEREOTYPES
English humour
English humour is widely famous for being sarcastic and dry. It consists of clever jokes and subtle observations, which can sometimes be difficult to understand. This can sometimes make it hard to know what the other person really thinks. However, different cultures embrace different senses of humor.
The food in England is bad
A stereotype is that English food is not good because English culinary culture often prefers simple dishes and uses spices differently compared to us. This makes the food seem mediocre, however this prejudice comes from being used to different flavors.
The English always stand in queue
A stereotype is that English people always queue for everything and always patiently wait their turn. This shows a sense of discipline and respect. In my opinion, though, this is a generalization and not everyone behaves well (personal experience).
English people always drink tea
A stereotype is that English people always drink tea at five in the afternoon and that they dip anything in it. This is partly true, because tea plays an important role in their culture.
