The commitments and actions of the GROUP
The six Business Lines of the Limagrain Group – Limagrain Coop, Jacquet-Brossard, Limagrain Field Seeds (LFS), Limagrain Ingredients, Limagrain Vegetable Seeds (LVS) and Vilmorin-Jardin – deploy actions focused on environmental issues structured around the four pillars definedby the Group's Ambition 2030: energy and climate, water, waste, biodiversity.
ENERGY AND CLIMATE
Energy management systems and certifications
Several entities are committed to implementing energy management systems aiming for continuous performance improvement:ISO 50001 Certification on energy management, engaged or targeted by several sites of the Cooperative, Jacquet-Brossard, Limagrain Ingredients, LFS and LVS.
Modernization of installations and energy efficiency
Structural investments help improve the efficiency of industrial equipment: • Replacement or modernization of boilers (e.g., Jacquet-Brossard, Vilmorin-Jardin); • Optimization of ventilation or heating systems (e.g., Limagrain Coop, Vilmorin-Jardin); • Incorporation of energy sobriety criteria into large industrial projects (e.g., Limagrain Coop's Athenza project).
Development of renewable energies and energy recovery
Several sites are turning to renewable energies :• Biomass boilers utilizing corn co-products in France and Brazil;• Solar panels on multiple sites around the world.
Reduction of emissions related to transportation and raw materials
Two types of actions dominate:
• Use of bio-based fuels in France and Brazil(e.g., the Cooperative uses rapeseed-based fuel reducing emissions by 60%); • Working with suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint of raw materials (Jacquet-Brossard, Limagrain Ingredients).
Raising awareness and building internal skills
Finally, reducing the carbon footprint also involves raising awareness :
• Climate Fresk deployed (Jacquet-Brossard, Limagrain Ingredients, Vilmorin-Mikado, LFS in Europe);• Climate Days and internal initiatives (LVS) to involve employees.

WATER MANAGEMENT
Optimization of consumption and water sobriety
The structural actions focus on control of usage and reducing consumption : • Monitoring end of consumption and leak detection (Limagrain Coop, Vilmorin-Jardin, Limagrain Ingredients); • Implementation of water sobriety plans (Limagrain Coop, Limagrain Ingredients).
Water recovery and recycling
Several entities deploy infrastructure to reduce pressure on the resource:• Installation of rainwater recovery systems (LFS in Europe, LVS in several countries, Limagrain Ingredients);• Closed-loop water recycling (LVS).
Optimization of irrigation in seed activities
For research activities, efficient irrigation systems have helped reduce consumption: • Drip irrigation on LFS and LVS research stations (allowing up to 80% water savings as in LFS-Brazil).
Regulatory monitoring of effluent quality
Sites strengthen the environmental control of discharged waters: • Monitoring effluent quality and regulatory compliance.
WASTE
Eco-design
• Eco-design of packaging and integration of recycled materials (Jacquet-Brossard);• Cessation of aluminum in sachets to improve recyclability (Vilmorin-Jardin);• Gradual cessation of metal box packaging in favor of more sustainable solutions (HM. Clause); • Packaging rationalization project, aiming to eliminate multi-material packaging (Vilmorin-Mikado).
Sorting, valorization, and circularity
Several structural actions strengthen the circularity of flows :• Awareness campaigns on sorting (Limagrain Coop, LFS, Limagrain Ingredients, LVS);• Valorization of organic waste in animal feed (Jacquet-Brossard, LVS, Limagrain Ingredients);• Reuse of corn cobs as biomass fuel (LFS, Limagrain Coop → Limagrain Ingredients).
Additionally, actions contribute to reducing indirect wasteand daily consumables:• Replacing disposable lab coats with reusable ones (LVS);• Eliminating single-use tableware (LVS – Berurim);• Implementing 100% compostable packaging for meals(LFS - Nérac) .
Responsible management of hazardous waste
Some entities implement specialized devices :• Deployment of the Heliosec system for hazardous liquid waste (LFS – South Africa and Brazil)

BIODIVERSITY
Biodiversity diagnostics and ecological management of sites
Several entities conduct diagnostics involving a detailed inventory ofbiological diversity, which will be accompanied by action recommendations to protect and managebiodiversity:• Diagnostics carried out on sites of Limagrain Coop, LFS, Limagrain Ingredients, and LVS.
These assessments enable the implementation of ecological actions such as: • Installation of nesting boxes and perches, late mowing or differentiated mowing, planting of flowering meadows, hedges, and grass strips, creation of wildlife crossings, and control of invasive exotic species.
Habitat preservation and restoration
Some entities work specifically on restoration or ecological compensation: • Environmental compensation or systematic replanting of trees (Limagrain Coop);
Protection of functional species and pollinators
Seed activities place a strong emphasis on useful species for agricultural ecosystems: • Actions supporting raptors, bats, and little owls (LFS/LVS) • Installations favorable to bees and pollinators (LFS/LVS).
Innovation and reduction of input impacts
Biodiversity is also integrated into product development: • Design of biostimulants and coatings without microplastics (LVS), reducing impact on ecosystems.
