Creating a New Board
To create a new board, you need to have the appropriate permissions. Only users with the Create Board permission can set up a new board. If you don’t have this permission, you'll need to contact an administrator.
1. Select Create Board from the WIP Boards Library.
2. Enter a Board Title and Description (up to 255 characters). This helps others understand the purpose of the board.
Example: Board Title = Parts, Description = Tracks parts availability for jobs. 3. Choose Board Visibility:
- Public: Visible to all users.
- Private: Visible to only you.

4. Click Build Board to start creating your board. Boards are made up of Groups, which contain Columns. Here’s an example to make this clearer: Example Board: Parts With 2 Groups:
- No Parts – contains 1 column: Jobs with no Parts
- Parts on Job – contains 2 columns: Awaiting Parts and Parts Available

5. Create Groups: Boards are organised into groups. Each group represents a section of your board, such as Parts, Job Status or Engineer Assignments. 6. Add Columns within each group. Columns represent a specific set of jobs that match certain criteria. Example: In the Parts on Job group, you might create:
- Column 1: Awaiting Parts → shows jobs where Parts Status = Awaiting
- Column 2: Parts Available → shows jobs where Parts Status = Available

7. Define Column Criteria:
- Select Add Column Criteria to set up the conditions for each column (e.g., Parts Status = Parts on Order).

8. Once the criteria are set, click Apply to display jobs based on the criteria you’ve defined. 9. You can drag and drop to change the order of groups and columns, or click the Bin icon to delete them. 10. Once your board is set up with the necessary groups, columns, and criteria, click Create Board to publish it.
