Info

VARK learning styles are a concept developed by Neil Fleming in the 1980s to help students and educators understand different learning preferences. The acronym VARK stands for Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, and Kinesthetic, representing four types of learning preferences. This model suggests that learners have preferences for how they receive and process information, and understanding these preferences can enhance their learning experience

Visual Learner

When It Matches:

  • Professors use slides, diagrams, videos, or visual examples
  • Information is organized clearly on the board or in presentations
What It Feels Like:
  • Concepts “click” quickly
  • Easier to follow along and stay focused
  • Notes are clear and meaningful
How to Maximize It:
  • Sit where you can clearly see visuals
  • Take organized, color-coded notes
  • Ask for or revisit slides after class
  • Connect visuals to bigger concepts (not just memorizing)
