3 v 3 Game Structure
Teams: Depending upon how many are present for your team it will either be: 3 players on the court, typically with 1-2 substitutes OR split your teams and play on two courts. Starting the Game: Usually determined by a coin toss or "rock, paper, scissors". Scoring: Baskets inside the arc (or close range) are worth 2 point3; outside the arc is worth 3 points. Winning: Highest score within 3 minutes) wins. Possession and Play
Clearing the Ball: On a defensive rebound or steal, the ball must be returned (dribbled or passed) behind the 3-point line. After a Made Basket: The ball is taken out from underneath the basket and must be passed or dribbled out behind the 3-point line. Check Ball: After fouls, violations, or out-of-bounds, the ball is "checked" (passed by the defense to the offense) at the top of the 3-point arc.

Lesson Closure
As we conclude the preseason and head towards the final tournament, let's be intentional about the parts of Purposeful Competition that we have pursued so far. As you begin play do so with an explicit purpose and pursue it with energy as you participate. As you fail today, be intentional about using those moments as lessons that are positive assisters rather than negative distractors. As you engage in competition with your opponents, recognize them as partners in your pursuit of excellence rather than barriers to it. Energizing yourself emotionally in this way may bring greater enjoyment and accessibility to your best performance. Have fun!

Intro Activity: Team Led Created Drill
- Let’s connect with our team Coaches and make suggestions about how practice
time can best be spent before our competition begins.
- Once you’ve agreed as a
team, let’s have you describe what you hope to gain from that practice time; things
like an increase shooting percentage, more open shots, etc.
- Once you’ve
described that, let’s agree on how we will know we were successful.
- Consider
things like less turnovers or better ball movement.
- Now let’s put some time into
improving in preparation for our competition to chase after excellence today!
- Mrs. Porter is going to spin the wheel and see what team will be leading us in their team created warm up drill.
