Once upon a time lived a little boy. With his cats and his Dad and his name was Noi. Dad was a fisherman who went away. ‘He makes an early start every day.’ One blustery night a fierce storm surged in. With a crash, bash, boom it made a deafening din! The very next day, Noi was curious to see. ‘Can I find any treasure washed up by the sea?’ ‘Had the storm brought a friend? Had the storm brought a friend?’

Then Noi spotted on the far part of the sand, Something that looked like it would fit in his hand. As he got closer, it got bigger and bigger. He stared in disbelief… ‘is that a flipper?’ Step by step, Noi got nearer and nearer, Until he could see just a little clearer. Washed up on the beach he spotted a tail. And to his delight, ‘is that a little whale?’ ‘Will you be my friend? Will you be my friend?’

Suddenly, Noi realised there was only one way. ‘Little Whale needs water, it needs some spray.’ So, he helped Little Whale along the path, Stopped at his house and put it in the bath. Later that night, Dad came home to find, A whale in the bath where he liked to unwind! ‘Noi, we can’t keep it. It must return home. Back to the ocean is where it should roam!’ ‘Are you my best friend? Are you my best friend?’

Follow the pictures

Noi was upset and didn’t quite understand. Little Whale needed the ocean. He couldn’t live on the land! He had made Little Whale feel loved and adored. ‘I gave it food, books and music and it really wasn’t bored!’ Then Dad gave Noi a hug as they stood by the sea. And with a nudge and a wave Little Whale was set free. Noi felt love from Dad as Little Whale swam away. It was returned to the ocean and here it must stay! ‘Goodbye Little Whale, Goodbye Little Whale, You will always be my best friend.’
