- Viene progettato l’edificio nella centrale Piazza Duomo di Lentini, accanto alla Chiesa Madre di Lentini.-L’idea iniziale dell’amministrazione comunale era di destinarlo a uffici municipali.
.Le truppe alleate entrano in città durante la campagna di Sicilia dellaSeconda guerra mondiale. I fascisti lasciano l’edificio.
Il Comune precisa che la concessione dell’edificio:- è temporanea (29 anni) - vale solo finché l’edificio è usato come: - casa del Fascio - ufficio postale - manutenzione a carico degli utilizzatori.
Il Comune stabilisce la destinazione dei locali:- Piano terra: ufficio postelegrafonico - Piani superiori: Casa del Fascio - Eccezione: locali usati come cabina elettrica.

Solo 12 giorni dopo la decisione precedente:- il Comune dona l’edificio al Fascio di Combattimento di Lentini - la donazione avviene senza alcun corrispettivo - le poste mantengono gratuitamente i locali al piano terra. Ciò avviene dopo pressioni degli organi locali e provinciali del PNF
- Nei documenti ufficiali l’edificio comincia ad essere indicato come:- Casa del Fascio - Uffici postali e telegrafici Il progetto cambia quindi funzione, probabilmente sotto pressione del partito fascista.
In Italia avviene la destituzione diBenito Mussolini che viene sostituito da Pietro Badoglio.
Il Comune ribadisce la proprietà dell’edificio.Decisioni principali: - Canone simbolico di 1 lira all’anno: - Al Fascio di Combattimento - All’amministrazione postelegrafica - Il Comune dichiara di aver sostenuto tutte le spese di costruzione e arredamento.
2 agosto 1943 – Scioglimento del Partito Fascista
23 dicembre 1943
Dopo il 1943 – Nuova funzione dell’edificio
5 gennaio 1944 – Tentativo di riottenere l’edificio
13 novembre 1943 – Nuovo sindaco
L’edificio passa allo Stato tramite il Ministero delle Finanze.- Viene destinato a Ufficio del Registro. Nel frattempo: - le Poste restano al piano terra fino agli anni ’50 - poi si trasferiscono in via Conte Alaimo.
Il sindaco presenta la relazione: “Rivendicazione al Comune del diritto di proprietà sulla ex Casa del Fascio”. Argomentazione principale: - la donazione del 1939 non fu libera, ma frutto di pressioni del fascismo - quindi l’atto sarebbe giuridicamente nullo. La giunta incarica il sindaco di avviare le pratiche per riportare l’edificio al Comune.
Viene costituita la Giunta municipale con quattro assessori.
Con decreto reale viene sciolto ilPartito Nazionale Fascista. Il decreto stabilisce che: - i beni del partito devono essere liquidati - il patrimonio residuo passa allo Stato italiano.
L’AMGOT nomina sindaco di LentiniVincenzo Magnano di San Lio.
