Rosa Parks was an activist who wanted equal rights.In 1955, Rosa Parks took the bus in Montgomery and
sat in the middle section. When white people wanted to
sit and there were not enough seats, black people were
asked to stand up. She refused so she was arrested and
taken to jail. Black people boycotted the buses. She
challenged the law and the Supreme Court decided it
was illegal to have segregated buses.
