You find large footprints leading away from the campsites. They're twice the size of a man's footprint, but they weren't made by a bear. The tracks lead uphill toward the old fire watchtower.

The creature is holding a crystal, just like the one you found at the camp site.

The creature—you've started calling it "Flurry"—is a Thermo-Fauna, a being from a dimension of eternal summer. It got stranded here when the seasons changed. It's been collecting supplies and materials to keep itself warm. It's trying to build a shelter to survive winter. It doesn't understand why the humans are scared—it just wants to be warm. Decide how to help Flurry before Ranger Perkins arrives.

The fire is spreading, but you're next to the Fire watchtower. Check for a shovel, fire extinguisher, something to smother the flames.

The creature seems friendly. It's shivering, it doesn't like the cold. This explains all the sleeping bags and insulation material it stolen.

The crowd is dispersing, but the tension remains. Ranger Perkins heads back to his station, muttering about paperwork. The campers who stayed are eyeing the woods with suspicion. This is your chance to investigate. Talk to campers, examine the theft sites, and find evidence of what's really taking the gear.

The club decided to take a bike ride up to Whispering Pines and go exploring. It's a perfect summer day—sunny, warm, the kind of day that to have fun with friends. But when you arrive at the campground, something was wrong. A crowd has gathered around Ranger Perkins's truck. Campers are waving their arms, talking over each other, pointing at empty spaces where their tents used to be. You hear fragments: "Sleeping bag—gone!" "My flashlight too!" "There were footprints this big—" Ranger Perkins holds up his hands, trying to calm everyone down. "Folks, please. It's probably just a bear. Or raccoons. Animals get curious this time of year." But the campers aren't buying it. A few are already packing up their cars, throwing gear in haphazardly, eager to leave.

Perkins looks tired. Maybe you can sweat talk him. A sympathetic ear might go further than an excuse.

The trail leads to the abandoned fire watchtower, a rickety structure overlooking the forest. At its base, you find a mess of sleeping bags, tents, empty food wrappers, and other camping gear. And there, huddled in near the tower, is the creature—eight feet tall, covered in shaggy fur, with sad, intelligent eyes. It sees you and freezes. Approach the creature without scaring it. It's not aggressive—just terrified and cold.

You're following the trail you hear heavy footsteps stomping through the trees. "Hey! You kids!" Ranger Perkins stomps toward you, looking even more tired than before. "I told the campers to stay put, not send their kids into the woods. This area's off-limits until we figure out what's going on." He hasn't seen the crystal in your pocket—yet. You need to talk your way out of this without raising his suspicion.

One camper mentions finding "weird looking rock" where her sleeping bag used to be. She kicked it into the bushes. If you can find it, you might have a clue.

As you get closer, one of the crystals in your pocket starts pulsing brighter—and the creature notices. It reaches out, curious and hopeful, but its massive hand knocks over a propane cannister. It falls and tumbles onto a small campfire the creature has been using for warmth. The canister hisses. Then it explodes. It wasn't a big explosion but it was enough to send burning debris flying in every direction. The creature shrieks, batting at sparks on its fur. A thick column of black smoke billows into the sky, unmistakable against the purple Whispering Pine haze. The fire catches on a pile of dry branches, spreading fast. This is definitely going to get the park ranger's attention.
