Welcome to Module 2 - "Navigating the UH Dashboard"
Navigating the UH Dashboard is an essential skill when managing your finances during the college journey.
This module will help guide you through the review of your Financial Aid Information and your Student Account.
MyUH Services
myuh.hawaii.edu
Let's start with MyUH Services.
When you click "View My Financial Aid Information," a new window will pop up, and it will show the new student portal.
You may reconize some of the most used features:
- Lamaku - your classes may be housed here
- Gmail - your school email (hawaii.edu)
- STAR GPS - you can view your academic history

Remember towards the end of the FAFSA when you sent your data to your choice of colleges? It is time to check:
- if you have any additional requirements
- what your cost of attendance (COA) is
- you financial aid offers
When you click "Open Student Dashboard," you will have to sign in with your UH username and password.

Student Dashboard
Once the dashoard is open, click on the "Financial Aid" link to complete your checks.
Pay attention to any requirements that you need to complete with your home campus. If you have any outstanding requirements, then you won't be eligible for financial aid.
You can click on any requirements and it will have instructions or forms attached that you will have to complete.

Next, lets click the "Offer." On this page, you can review your Cost of Attendance and Financial Aid Offers.

Cost of Attendance
Student Aid Index (SAI) is a number generated after you completed the FAFSA. It helps the financial aid offce determine how much financial aid they can offer you.
When financial aid is first offered, it is assumed that you will be full time. However, some types of aid will scale to the amount of credits you are enrolled in.

Student Account
There are few ways to check your student account. If you click on any of these three buttons on the "Payment Information" card, a new window will pop up and the menu ribbon will have many options for different functions.
Refunds
Payment Plans
Make Payment
You can sign up for electroninc refunds by attaching your checking account to your student account. Otherwise, refunds will be mailed to your mailing address.

Payment plans are when you need to split your payments up. Signing up for a payment plan in the beginning of a term is recommended.
Pay your balance online with a credit or debit card. You also have the option of paying in person at any UH cashier's office.

Scholarships, Grants and Tuition Waivers
When the financial aid office credits your student account, it is called a disbursement. Generally, the credits will pay down your tuition and fees. If you end up with a negative balance, you will receive a refund.
Use this side of the card to provide more information about a topic. Focus on one concept. Make learning and communication more efficient.

These types of disbursements are moved to your student account automatically.
These types of disbursements are optional and require extra steps. Contact your financial aid office for more details.

Account activity is a record of all the financial transactions on your student account. When you use the dropdown, there will be 5 columns:
Write a brief description here
- Description - the name of the transaction (ex. Pell Grant, Electronic Refund, etc.)
- Code - a code describing the transaction
- Date - the date the transaction was applied to your account
- Charges - a dollar amount that adds to your balance
- Credits/Anticipated Credits - a dollar amount that subtracts from your balance
Thank you!
A positive balance means you owe money. A negative balance means you will receive a refund.
