Warring States Period (475–221 BC): One of the most turbulent eras in Chinese history, when the country was fragmented into seven kingdoms (Qin, Chu, Zhao, Wei, Han, Yan, Qi) that were constantly at war for supremacy. Historical Unification: The story is based on the rise of King Ei Sei (Ying Zheng) of the state of Qin, who would eventually unify all of China and become its first emperor, Qin Shi Huang. Fictional Premise: The narrative follows Shin (Li Xin), a war orphan and slave who dreams of becoming the “Greatest General Under the Heavens.”".
