(Navigating zoom and edio platforms) Interpreting Communication Signals Els must interpret verbal, chat, emojis, and zoom reaction buttons that may be misinterpreted culturally or linguistically. (Idioms and gestures) Silent Period Behavior Learners in silent periods often observe with cameras off and muted microphones before actively participating. Overcoming Reduced Nonverbal Cues Online learning limits access to nonverbal cues, requiring alternative methods like visuals, Total Physical Response in teaching, and instructional gestures. Ensuring Engagement and Accessibility Effective scaffolding and accessible tools help enhance engagement and promote equitable learning for English learners.
