Intro Activity: All Star Passing
YOU WILL HAVE TWO MINUTES FOR EACH LEVEL. AFTER EACH ROUND, READ INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE NEXT LEVEL. MOVE TO THE SPOT MARKERS AND MRS. PORTER WILL START THE TIMER.
ROOKIE LEVEL: On the start signal, the passer will make a bounce pass to the spot player. The spot player will make a return pass. As soon as the return pass is made, the passer will dribble to a new spot player and exchange passes. How many different spot players can you pass with before you hear the stop signal?
STARTER LEVEL: This level builds on the Rookie Level with the passer making a cut after the pass and the spot player making a leading pass to a cutting player as the return. Emphasize the importance of crisp cuts into open space.
ALL STAR LEVEL: This level builds on the pass and cut skills from the Starter Level but adds a defensive element. Mrs. Porter will assign 4 players as defense by giving them pinnies or colored wristbands. Defenders move throughout the activity area, looking to deflect (not intercept) passes. Passers will pick up any deflected passes and continue. Defenders are not trying to steal the ball away from dribbling players.
When finished, click the home button and have a seat with your team to wait for Mrs. Porter.

SHOOTING FORM REVIEW
Coaches will lead
The object is to practice our shooting form to a partner to improve our mechanics before shooting on goal.
- In order to shoot you need to work on your shooting form. Think of shooting using the acronym B.E.E.F
- B: balance, weight even on both feet. Feet shoulder width apart and standing on the balls of your feet.
- E: eyes focused on the basket
- E: elbow of your shooting arm is tucked in to your side, non dominant hand on the side of the ball. When shooting, bend the knees, extend at the legs and then extend our arm straight up to the basket.
- F: follow through with shooting fingers pointing to the ground.

PARTNER FORM SHOOTING
Coaches will lead
The object is to practice our shooting form to a partner to improve our mechanics before shooting on goal.
- Players all find a partner within teams.
- Players line up about 7 - 10 feet from each other or on two parallel lines picked by the coach.
- One basketball between two players.
- Decide who is going to go first and stand according to the diagram. The person circled is shooting.
- Shoot the ball to each other using correct technique so that their partner can catch it without moving.
- Players then shoot the ball to each other for the given amount of time.

close out shooting
Coaches will lead
The object is to improve shooting under pressure.
When you are ready, give Mrs. Porter a thumbs up!
- One person will be the shooter and stand at the free throw line.
- The rest of your team will line up behind the basket and will be defenders.
- You only need one ball.
- The first defender in line will have the ball.
- On the start signal, pass the ball to the offensive player who will catch it.
- The defender who threw it will quickly move to close out the shooter.
- The shooter will attempt to take a shot either by using a jab step, a fake out or hopefully a successful jump shot.
- Defender will rebound, hand off to the next defender and go to the end of the line.
- Shooter will stay.
- We will switch out a new shooter every 1:30.
