In the Workplace
Soft skills are personal qualities that allow a person to interact with others effectively and harmoniously. Examples of soft skills include communication, leadership, time management, and critical thinking. These skills do not require technical or industry-specific knowledge. They simply define the way a person relates to others, communicates, and manages various situations both personally and in the workplace. Here, we will run through scenarios to practice demonstrating soft skills in a corporate environment. Collect points for each correct answer, and earn all four badges to become the Office Superstar!

For our final exercise, let's test your ability to think critically by analyzing a scenario to make a decision. Read the prompt carefully, then answer the following questions.
Here's the scenario!
You are a department chair at an esteemed university. At a faculty meeting, you learn that the college is considering transitioning several traditional lectures to online instruction. The dean shares that online enrollment has increased by 35% over the past few years and is hopeful about the change. Your colleagues, however, worry about the transition to the virtual format, claiming students receive a better quality of instruction inside the classroom. One professor suggests putting one online section for each affected class to test engagement. The dean, however, claims that making the switch quickly could reduce university costs and attract a wider range of students. The university must come to a decision quickly. They discuss their options: transition the classes online, offer one online section each, or keep in-person instruction.
