What problem does this solve?
There are 3 main benefits that we see to our customers in launching the new fields:
Fulfills Requests from Strategic Customers
Customers like S&P have received positive feedback from end users that are leveraging PDL Headcount Insights data. Continuing the momentum, they want to be responsive to user feedback by adding the most requested new aggregations and features.
Offers Multiple Calculation Methodologies
Some customers have shared during testing that they prefer different calculation methods of specific insights fields. EQT Partners, for example, in this case, requested new Employee Turnover fields which better align with how they think of measuring employee retention. Understanding how effectively companies retain employees is an important measure of company health for investment research analysts, and also an actionable signal for recruiters looking for talent. We want to provide options to support all users that look to PDL for employee retention statistics.
Further Grows our Parent / Subsidiary Field Functionality
In Q4 2025 we launched the new Parent / Subsidiary Details Bundle as a customer alpha, which brought new eyes and users to PDL's parent/subsidiary data.
In gathering feedback, one of the most common requests that we received was to add the current employee count of each related company (affiliated_entities.employee_count) enabling easy summation to the headcount of the entire corporation and easy filtering out of inactive/tiny acquisitions.
