Cos'è?

L'energia geotermica è una forma di energia rinnovabile che sfrutta il calore naturale proveniente dall'interno della Terra. Sfrutta le falde acquifere o il vapore che si forma grazie ad esse per far funzionare la centrale. A differenza delle altre centrali, il vapore che viene utilizzato è naturale, e non viene prodotto artificialmente bruciando combustibili.

qui ci sono sempre gli stessi macchinari: turbina e alternatore trasformano il vapore in energia elettrica

La torre di refrigerazione è un ,macchinario che trasforma il vapore utilizzato in acqua, che torna nelle falde acquifere. IN questo modo si crea un circuito chiuso

per prima cosa viene prelevato il vapore dal sottosuolo, che servirà per l'attivazione della turbina

Qual è stata la prima centrale?

La prima centrale geotermica al mondo fu costruita a Larderello, in Toscana, nel 1913. Tuttavia, già nel 1904 il principe Piero Ginori Conti sperimentò con successo la prima produzione di energia elettrica da vapore naturale, accendendo cinque lampadine. L'impianto del 1913 segnò l'inizio dello sfruttamento industriale della risorsa.
