Grande coppa , in uso nel periodo geometrico, con un corpo a tronco di cono rovesciato , pareti leggermente bombate a bocca larga , dotata di due anse simmetriche oblique. L'utilizzo era solitamente riservato finalità religiose e rituali. Esempio principale
IL CRATERE
Il cratere è un tipico vaso che ha l'uso di mescolare e raffrescare il vino(altri tipi di questi vasi come il Psykter e lo Stamnos si svilupperanno in età arcaica), esso lo possiamo ritrovare in 3 diversi periodi della storia greca con caratteristiche differenti:periodo protogeometrico: il cratere si presenta con una forma a "campana" con due anse orizzontali, presenta poche decorazioni (cerchi o semicerchi)periodo geometrico: il cratere aumenta di dimensioni e presena numerosissime decorazioni(motivi astratti e figure umane stilizzate a silhouette per narrare scene funebri)periodo orientalizzante: il cratere si presenta a "colonette" (in quanto le anse hanno piccole colonne), presenta numerose decorazioni(animali reali o fantastici) e viene utilizzata la tecnica "a figure nere) esempio principale:
Pyxis (pisside)
Contenitore tipico del periodo geometrico, solitamente di forma cilindrica, molto basso, dotato di coperchio spesso decorato con motivi zoomorfi. Veniva usato per conservare balsami o altre sostanze rare. Esempio principale:

Kylix (coppa)
Specie di coppa in uso nel periodo orientalizzante , con bocca larga e piede slanciato, dotata di due anse simmetriche orizzontali od oblique. Veniva usata per bere durante i banchetti.Esempio principale:

Vaso tipico del periodo proto-geometrico, con corpo quasi cilindrico, piede piccolo, collo lungo e bocca svasata, dotato di un'unica ansa verticale. Veniva usato per conservare unguenti e profumi.Esempio principale:

IL CRATERE
Il cratere è un tipico vaso che ha l'uso di mescolare e raffrescare il vino(altri tipi di questi vasi come il Psykter e lo Stamnos si svilupperanno in età arcaica), esso lo possiamo ritrovare in 3 diversi periodi della storia greca con caratteristiche differenti:periodo protogeometrico: il cratere si presenta con una forma a "campana" con due anse orizzontali, presenta poche decorazioni (cerchi o semicerchi)periodo geometrico: il cratere aumenta di dimensioni e presena numerosissime decorazioni(motivi astratti e figure umane stilizzate a silhouette per narrare scene funebri)periodo orientalizzante: il cratere si presenta a "colonette" (in quanto le anse hanno piccole colonne), presenta numerose decorazioni(animali reali o fantastici) e viene utilizzata la tecnica "a figure nere) esempio principale:
Pyxis (pisside)
Contenitore tipico del periodo geometrico, solitamente di forma cilindrica, molto basso, dotato di coperchio spesso decorato con motivi zoomorfi. Veniva usato per conservare balsami o altre sostanze rare. Esempio principale:
Kylix (coppa)
Specie di coppa in uso nel periodo orientalizzante , con bocca larga e piede slanciato, dotata di due anse simmetriche orizzontali od oblique. Veniva usata per bere durante i banchetti.Esempio principale:
Lèkythos (lecito)
Vaso tipico del periodo proto-geometrico, con corpo quasi cilindrico, piede piccolo, collo lungo e bocca svasata, dotato di un'unica ansa verticale. Veniva usato per conservare unguenti e profumi.Esempio principale:
