Watch Simon Sinek Discuss Finding Your Motive

Simon Sinek helps the presenters find and unpack their true purpose. It's a fascinating insight into Simon's process when assisting others in finding their 'why'.

Let's go!

3 Motives reviwed

Just to make sure we're on the same page, the motive types are below for future reference.Achievement Motive (A) • Strengths: Clarity, drive, accountability, execution. • Risks: Can over-index on outcomes and neglect balance. • Fuel: Extrinsic, can evolve to intrinsic when success is tied to mastery and legacy. Impact Motive (B) • Strengths: Inspires loyalty, creates culture, builds trust. • Risks: Can hesitate on hard choices to protect people or ideals. • Fuel: Deeply intrinsic; connects work to purpose. Mastery Motive (C) • Strengths: Innovation, creativity, technical excellence. • Risks: Can get stuck in complexity or lose interest in execution. • Fuel: Purely intrinsic; you work for the love of the challenge.

In this video, Simon Sinek talks about how each of us has a “why,” a reason or purpose behind what we do. He shares stories and ideas to help us uncover our own “why.”

after watching Reflect...

After the video, write down one or two moments that stood out to you and reflect about why they mattered. This activity isn't graded or submitted, so don't overthink it! • Notice the personal story he told about discovering his “why.” Pay attention to how he reflected on past experiences. • Think about your own “why.” What activities or moments make you feel really alive or proud? Ask yourself: If every day felt like your best day ever, what would you be doing? Up next: a chance to introduce yourself to your new personalized AI Coach.
