Shaping the future of the network The brand and website were refreshed, the CEO Academy became the Leadership Summit, the Junior Executive Academy became the Talent Academy, and the Early Careers Programme opened Eurhonet to the next generation.
A new phase of growth Austria joined, Alessandro Cesale was appointed Director General, and the Energy Savings Group became the Sustainable Construction Topic Group. Eurhonet entered its first European project Horizon 2020 DREEAM.
Marking two decades of collaboration The new Financing Topic Group signals a strategic focus on investment and financial sustainability. Eurhonet celebrates its 20th anniversary in Bilbao.
A milestone period of growth A permanent Brussels Secretariat opened, Caterina Verde became first General Manager, and the Coordinator role was introduced. The Junior Executive Academy launched, and a landmark 10-year anniversary Assembly was held in Reims.
The start of Eurhonet As Eurhonet’s first President, Hans Lander helped transform a shared idea into a functioning European network. During these early years, Eurhonet was formally established in Brussels as an international non-profit association and began building the structures needed to support long-term cooperation between public and social housing providers across Europe. The first Topic Groups were launched around common challenges such as ageing, social integration, energy efficiency and corporate social responsibility. At the same time, initiatives such as BuildTog, TRHOC and the development of EURHO-GR® showed the network’s ambition to produce practical results and engage in European cooperation. By the end of Hans Lander’s mandate, Eurhonet had moved beyond its founding phase. It had a clear identity, an expanding membership and a culture of cooperation that would shape the years to come.
Growing stronger together Spain and the Channel Islands joined, broadening Eurhonet's geographic reach, and the Human Resources Topic Group was launched to strengthen people practices across the network.

Accelerating digital transformation IT in Housing was relaunched as the Digital Communication and Technology Topic Group — recognising that technology and communication had become central to how social housing organisations operate and serve residents.
