Frequently asked about ICAIS: what is the time commitment?

Courses are designed to be completed in six weeks. Courses begin every six weeks throughout the year. See more below!

The quotes below are from ICAIS participants from the program. Check out what they had to say!

I felt consistently challenged when it came to understanding new concepts and completing assignments. Being able to see and comment on other student's work and questions helped deepen my understanding of the material as well.

The course has some great resources I'll be using in the future to enhance PD for our teachers!

The course also worked as a great motivator – a real “push” to keep going. That’s why I would recommend it to others as well.

Expand Digital Citizenship to an AI World

This course will explore the ways Canvas can support the three aspects of Digital Citizenship for Limitless Learning through an AI lens: equitable access to technology, safe and ethical computing, and global communication.

Utilize AI to Enhance Teaching and Learning

Experience the transformative potential of AI! Explore how artificial intelligence can be seamlessly integrated into teaching and learning to elevate both student engagement and instructional effectiveness. Get hands-on with tools that support personalized learning and elevate student engagement. Whether you’re an educator, administrator, or edtech enthusiast, this course will equip you with practical strategies to leverage AI for a more dynamic, efficient, and impactful educational experience.

No Seat Time or Tests

Upmost in our minds when creating the Certified Programs was - how will participants be able to apply this content? The application in our participants' learning environments is key -- all of the assessment pieces in Instructure Certified AI Strategist ask participants to create something they will use. There is no seat-time requirement, and there are no tests.

Community of Learners

We value and leverage the relationships made among the peers as they progress through the course. The Discussions in the course are an integral part of the learning, and provide participants the opportunity to see how others are applying their knowledge, as well as giving them the opportunity to ask questions and learn from one another.

Build AI Literacy and Governance in Education

As Artificial Intelligence (AI) transitions from a futuristic concept to a fundamental reality, organizational leaders must move beyond reactive policies and toward proactive strategy. This four-week, action-oriented course guides participants through the evolution of AI, the frameworks of AI literacy, and the complexities of policy development and ethical implementation. By analyzing the current state of AI at your own organization and using research-backed diagnostic tools, you will identify critical gaps in your organization’s AI maturity. By the end of this course, you'll develop a strategic AI action plan, providing a roadmap for policy, infrastructure, and stakeholder support at your institution.

Facilitated Courses

A critical piece of the courses is the facilitator for communication, engagement, and feedback. All of the ICAIS facilitators are educators and Instructure employees who have been through the ICAIS program. They represent educators in K12 and HE from all over the United States.

Micro-credentials

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will earn the Instructure Certified AI Strategist micro-credential. We issue this through Parchment Digital Badges. Each participant who successfully completes the program will receive both a digital badge as evidence, as well as a certificate that indicates they are a Instructure Certified AI Strategist.
