THE JURASSIC PERIOD

As seen in the photo, the Jurassic Period was a time of lushy greenery and wetlands. The climate was significantly (at least 4x) warmer than it is today due to higher amounts of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Rainfall had also increased creating the wetlands. Changes in δ18O would eventually lead to longterm and short term climate changes.
What about Pangea?
The Jurassic Period had a lot of firsts for animals we can see in the modern day but also animals that fit the "Jurassic vibe".

Major Events
One of the major events that occured in the Jurassic Period was the splitting of Pangea. During this time period, the breakup of the continent Pangea began to accelrate, resulting in the north (Luruassia) and the south (Gondwana).
While dinosaurs were the prominent species during this time, the Jurassic Period also gave rise to the first mammals. While they were small to begin with, they eventually grew with time.

1. The Jurassic Period is the second longest period in the Mesozoic Era (around 56 million years) 2. The Jurassic Period gets its name from the Jura Mountains in France/Switzerland. This is where rocks from this period were first discovered. 3.Dragonslies had wingspans of two feet during this time 4.The Atlantic Ocean was forming at this time
