Instructional Design

Creation of instructional materials (Purdue University, 2024).

Instructional Design Development

Development is the director, creating the big picture from the start and keeping everything on track (ELM Learning, 2021).

Instructional Design is the screenwriter, creating the concepts (ELM Learning, 2021).

Approach Used

Consensus: Product Model is most used at the current workplace.

Process Model- learning acquired through experiences Product Model- learning experience analyzed through outcome (University of San Diego, n.d.)

- When done, turn and talk to a partner about examples of product versus process model that you either have seen or used.

Method 1: Subject-Centered Design

Revolves around a particular subject matter or discipline (Schweitzer, 2025).

Often used in higher education (middle school and older)

Method #2: Learner-centered approach

Considers each learner's needs, interests, and goals (Schweitzer, 2025).

ADDIE Model

An instructional design device to help instructional designers think about the course design in a non-linear manner (University of Washington, n.d.).

Scenario 6

Scenario 5

Instruction is focused on only one subject with little to no other disciplines implemented, while mainly focusing on factual information.

Learner-Centered Model

Learner-Centered Approach

Subject-Centered Approach

A team analyzes the students' needs and develops a curriculum to fit the students' needs.

A pretest is conducted and lessons are planned around the results of the pretest.

ADDIE Model
