Pure Competition

Advantages: -low praces (strong competition forces firms to keep prices low) -efficient production (firms must produce to survive) Disadvantages: -no or little product variety so no actual choice -rare innovation as there is less investment

Monopolistic Competition

Advantages: -variety of choice and different products -innovation and quality improvement Disadvantages: -higher prices -subject to marketing or biased advertisement

Oligopoly

Disadvantages: -with high quality comes high prices -risk of secret cooperation between firms

Advantages: -high quality and improvements -stable prices (potentially)

Pure Monopoly

Advantages: -reliable supply and consistent service -large availability

Disadvantages: -higher prices -less choice or innovation
