PUCK
Puck (also known as Robin Goodfellow) is a hobgoblin, a creature from English folklore associated with domestic pranks and mischief on farms. He serves as the "right-hand man" to Oberon, the Fairy King, though their relationship is more similar to a master and his jester than a sovereign and a subject.Puck is a super fast and very clumsy shapeshifter, he is responsible for the romantic chaos characterising the play. CURIOSITY: In the 16th century, "puck" was a term used to describe an entire class of mischievous or evil spirits. Shakespeare was the first to turn this common noun into a proper name, creating the iconic character we know today. Before him, it was simply a synonym for "demon" or "sprite". "Robin Goodfellow" was a euphemistic name used by English country folk. They believed that calling these spirits by kind names (like "Goodfellow") would appease them and prevent them from causing household mischief.
