1880

• George Wimpey establishes stone working business in the U.K.

• He builds London's first electric tramway and completes roadwork for the 1908 London Olympics.

1921

• 16-year-old Frank Taylor builds two homes in Blackpool, England.
• His construction company, Taylor Woodrow, is born.

1928

• George Wimpey enters the housing business and is soon completing about 1,200 homes a year.

1935

• Taylor Woodrow debuts their first employee newsletter with a photo of three men pulling on a rope.

• This photo later inspired the company’s logo and continues to be reflected in Taylor Morrison’s logo today.

• Taylor Woodrow has projects underway on every continent.
• Before the turn of the century, the company was responsible for constructing London Heathrow Airport, Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland Paris, and the Hong Kong Ocean Terminal.

1954

• George Wimpey acquires American homebuilder Morrison Homes.

1984

• The Chunnel, a 31-mile rail tunnel beneath the English Channel connecting the U.K. and France, opens.
• George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow are two of the five contractors on the project.

1994

• George Wimpey and Taylor Woodrow merge to form Taylor Wimpey in the U.K. and Taylor Morrison in North America.
• Sheryl Palmer is named CEO of Taylor Morrison.

2008

• Taylor Morrison completes its IPO and becomes a public-traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.

2013

• Taylor Morrison experiences a period of significant growth, completing a series of acquisitions to expand depth in key markets and enter new ones.

2013-2020

• Taylor Morrison debuts on the Fortune 500 list.

2021

• Taylor Morrison served as the exclusive homebuilder for ABC’s reboot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

2025

• Named America’s Most Trusted Home Builder by Lifestory Research for the 11th consecutive year.
