Spedizione in Sicilia

415 a.C. : la flotta giunse a Catania Arrivò a Catania la nave Salaminia per riportare Alcibiade ad Atene Alcibiade seguì la nave Salaminia fino a Turi, poi fece perdere le sue tracce Ateniesi condannarono Alcibiade a morte in contumacia Alcibiade si rifugiò presso gli Spartani, a cui diede preziosi consigli: - inviare truppe in Sicilia - occupare Decelea (Attica)

Fase Deceleica

413-404 a.C. : è l'ultima fase della Guerra del Peloponneso, caratterizzata dall'occupazione spartana di Decelea in Attica. Su consiglio di Alcibiade, Sparta mantenne un presidio permanente per bloccare i rifornimenti ateniesi e danneggiare le miniere del Laurio. Con il supporto finanziario persiano, Sparta sconfisse Atene a Egospotami (405 a.C.), costringendola alla resa nel 404 a.C., con la distruzione delle Lunghe Mura e l'imposizione del governo oligarchico dei Trenta Tiranni.
