Career Awareness
Eagle P.R.I.D.E. is rooted in creating opportunities for an engaged and prosperous future for all.
Eagle P.R.I.D.E. is the collective name for the PK-12 Community Connected Learning for students in Whitley County Consolidated Schools, including career exploration PK-12 and focused academies in grades 9-12. This includes emphasizing employability skills as we guide students to navigate community-connected experiences in career awareness and career exploration in order to help them make educated decisions about their own future.
Within our school community, we honor students, staff, and a community who show: Persistence, Respectfulness, Initiative, Dependability, and Efficiency (P.R.I.D.E.)
Before young adults can be expected to make decisions about future plans, we must provide them with abundant opportunities to explore where their interests lie, investigate future options, and equip them with the skills necessary to guide their own path. Whitley County Consolidated Schools educates all students to high standards, enabling them to become productive, responsible citizens. By working together with our community, we can provide support to help coach students through this process. We want our students to graduate high school with a plan, equipped with academic readiness, and prepared for post-secondary success, whether that be through enrollment in college, enlistment in the military, employment, or any combination of options.

Career Experience
After completing advanced level Career-Technical Education courses, CCHS students are eligible for a Work-Based Learning Internship or Capstone Experience. Students may participate for one semester, or a full year, where they spend part of their school day working alongside a career professional in the workplace. Coursework is completed in alignment with Indiana State Standards and the designed training plan for the experience. These opportunities are conducted in partnership with business and community organizations and provide students the opportunity to gain expertise in a specific occupation aligned to the student’s CTE pathway.
