ACPS
A professional desktop based cognitive and reflex training platform for all athletes, designed to help refine their peripheral awareess, cognitive speed, reaction timing, reflex control ext. powered by real time head tracking The goal is to replicate the kind of reaction and focus training used in elite sport settings, rather than building a basic reflex app.
Target Audience
The Point
The platform is intended for athletes and coaches across all competitive levels who want to assess, track, and compare performance metrics related
We are trying to battle against unserious and over simplistic reaction tests. Tests that fail to measure key metrics such as head movement, spacial awareness ext. The point of this system is to provide a data driven option that allows inferences to be made though movement tracking analytics
Login Page
The user will be faced with a simple login page
Home Menu
Choices of either selection of a specific module or to Join or Create a Network/League/Community
Flow of the App
Module Page
The aim of this section is to explain the overall flow of the system and outline how a user typically interacts with ACPS.
A Module was chosen and a small tutorial is displayed
Module Process
The logic behind the module is then ran and the user advances though each stage
Calculations
The module completes and brief calculations are formed based on results
Review Stage
Once the calculations have been conductued, metrics are then visulaised and displayed
Leaderboard
A leaderboard based on Network is then displayed (only if the user is part of a network)
Performance Modules
Here are some AI Generated examples of moduels
A moving target appears slowly and the user will follow smoothly. This measures controlled precision and smoothness
User maintains a stable head position over a period of time, the system will then measure deviation over time
Stimulus appears but activates after a random delay (to prevent anticipation) It measures reaction time and falso start detection
Stability Hold Test
Delayed Reaction Test
Controlled Target Traking
Roles of the Team
What will each member of the team focus on
- They are responsible for building the technical foundation of the platform.
Infrastructure Lead
Every performance module relies on the systems they create.
The Infrastructure Lead builds and manages the camera and head-tracking system. Their job is to make sure movement data is captured accurately and made available for all performance modules to use.
PRECISE RESPONSIBILITIES - Ensuring Facial Coordinates translates to usable data - Ensuring access to camera control is suitable - Handling Calibration (What is the centre, what counts as left) - Managing saving data to a database
THEY WILL NOT
Look at this role as the glue between each layer of this application
- Write tracking logic- Design anything visual
Performance Logic Lead
The brain of the system, this person will design explicitly what each performance module does. How each any every performance metric is calculated and defined
PRECISE RESPONSIBILITIES - The rules of each performance module - The rules and definitions of each module - The exact logic behind each module (e.g. When a timer starts/stops, what directions count as correct, how to calculate accuracy percentages ) -
Application Leader
As mentioned before as apart of the 'Flow of the Application' this role will be particularly responsible for this
- Without this role, all we would have is movement detection and useless user inputs
PRECISE RESPONSIBILITIES - Login and Comminuty Processes - Navigation Logic (NOT THE UI) - Managing Authentication - Coordinating how a user moves through the app -
- The role is about turning tracking data into meaningful athletic metrics
Visualises performance insights and designs the general interface
Presentation Leader
PRECISE RESPONSIBILITIES - JavaFX Design - Login Screen - Dashbaord and Graphs Involved - Consistent them that we decide on - Maintaining a professional Layout -
The creative brain. The person responsible for everything visual, every visual aspect of this system is in the hands of this person
Technical Feasibility
The aim of this assessment is not to build a technically groundbreaking system, but to demonstrate strong software engineering principles. This platform is ambitious yet very realistic, allowing us to showcase clear architecture, modular design, and effective collaboration across defined roles within the team.- We already have the FaceTracker code credits to Qasim - If we continue with this in Java, we have ChatGPT + Claude to help us out - Our priority should be how we document our collaboraion which should be easy since we are all close anyways
