What are Conditional sentences?
- Sentences formed with 2 small sentences (clauses).
- The order can vary:
If it rains, I will stay at home. = I will stay at home if it rains.
- One sentence starts with IF = si...
- One sentence is the condition, the hypotheses, and the other one is the result.

Type 0: General truths.
FORM:
IF Present Simple,
Present Simple.
Present Simple
if Present Simple.
USE:
General facts, universal truths, or instructions: If you freeze water, it becomes ice. If you mix blue andyelow, you get green. If you pay in advance, you get a discount. If the venue is big, it holds more people.
Type I: Possible events.
FORM:
IF Present Simple,
Future Simple.
USE:
Possible or likely things in the future: If it rains, we'll stay at home. We'll inform the customers if the flight is delayed. I'll go if she invites me. If you study, you'll pass the test.
Type II: hypothesis.
FORM:
IF Past Simple,
Conditional Simple.

Impossible things in the present / unlikely things in the future: If I won the lottery, I'd buy a house. If we had a bigger budget, we would hire a famous DJ. She would pass the exam if she studied. If I were rich, I wouldn't work.
