The Center for Human Services is an asset that provides counseling and other mental health services. They will also help guide you to other services if their services do not fit your needs. The Center for Human Services is an organization that advocates for those with mental health problems. This asset is great for students to know about as they may know someone or be someone that is suffering from a mental health issue. This is an individual asset as the Center for Human Services can either help you directly or recommend other serviecs if need be.

Miller Park Zoo
Miller Park Zoo is a great asset to have in the community as it provides a fun space for families to learn about animals and conservation. Miller Park Zoo also has many different events for the community. A field trip to Miller Park Zoo can be a great authentic learning experience to augment a life science lesson! This is an institution asset as you can partner with the zoo in many different ways to bring your students learning experiences they do not normally see.

McLean County Government Center
The McLean County Government Center is a useful asset to have in the community as students can see local government in action. The McLean County Government Center could be a great place to take a field trip during a social studies unit on government to have a hands on learning experience. The McLean County Governemt Center can be used as an institutional, individual, or community association asset depending on how you use it. If you partner with the center itself it is an institutional asset, if you partner with a specific government offical it can be individual, and if you partner with a government organization within the center to do somethign for the community it can be a community association asset.

Ecological Action Center
The Ecological Action Center is an asset that is focused on maintaining and improving the sustainability of the local community. The Ecological Action Center advocates for the community to keep the surrounding area clean and prosperous for current and future residents. They also offer different workshops and events for anyone who wants to get involved and keep the community healthy and clean. This is both an institutional asset and a community association asset as you can partner with the center to take advantage of its different programs which also aim to improve the local community.

Illinois State University
Illinois State University is a bountiful asset to have in the community as it has many different resources and events for the community to interact with. Local schools can collaborate with ISU in many different ways to provide unique learning experiences for their students, whether that be through field trips to campus or by having ISU students and staff come to the classroom as guest speakers.This is an institutional asset as you can partner with ISU for a wide variety of activities and resources.

The Normal Public Library is a great asset for the community to have access to information in both physical and digital formats. The library also have many events and programs for people of all different ages. The Library can also be a quite place for students to study or work on homework while also providing wifi for those that might not have it at home. This is an institutional asset as you can partner with the library to interact with its many different activities, programs, and resources.

The McLean County Museum of History is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the history of McLean County. This community asset offers different programs and both permanent and rotating exibits for people of all ages to interact with. This is a great place for students to learn about the history of the place they live. This is an institutional asset as you can partner with the museum to organize an educational experience for you students.

Bloomington Public Library is a great community asset for students to find information in all sorts of different media formats. Bloomington Public Library also has many different events and programs that cater to community members of all ages. The Bloomington Public Library is an institutional asset because you can partner with the library and participate in the different programs it offers.

Possible Street Art Location
This underpass has a big blank concrete wall that I think would be a perfect place for some street art. I think this would be a good place because it is right on the way to downtown Bloomington and so many people would see it. My idea for the space is to have multiple arms of all different skin tones joining hands around a book to represent people coming together to learn and grow as a community. I think this fits the local area as there are two universities very close to each other in the local area.
Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry
Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry is a helpful asset to the community that offers free food and clothers to residents of the Bloomington-Normal area. They are open on Mondays and teh 4th Saturday of each month so there is plenty of opportunity for those to get the food they might need. Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry advocates for people experiencing poverty to be able to have food and clothes that they otherwise might not be able to afford. This is a community association asset as it is centered around helping bring food to those that need it within the community.

Children's Discovery Museum
The Children's Discovery Museum is an asset focused on having hands on activities that encourage kids to learn about STEAM concepts at their own pace. The Children's Discovery Museum has many different exibits, programs, and events for the public to engage with, and offer the opportunity for field trips that are led by a museum educator. This is an institutional asset as you can partner with the museum to give your students a chance to explore the different spaces within.
