Van Gogh's Sunfluwers

Light, color and life by Van gogh

Vincent van Gogh was born in the Netherlands in 1853. He started painting as a young adult and quickly created many artworks. He loved to paint nature, like flowers, fields, trees, and the night sky, but he also painted people and everyday life. Some of his most famous paintings are Starry Night, Sunflowers, and The Bedroom. Van Gogh had a hard life. He often felt sad and lonely and had serious mental health problems. His paintings are famous for their bright colors and emotional style.

The original versions of Van Gogh's famous "Sunflowers" series are preserved in prestigious museums such as the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, the National Gallery in London, and the Neue Pinakothek in Munich, among others.

It is a series of paintings by Vincent van Gogh, created between 1888 and 1889. It depicts a bouquet of sunflowers in a vase, with vibrant shades of yellow and ochre, reflecting the artist's passion and emotion. Its thick, expressive brushwork is characteristic of post-impressionism.

Why did I choose it?

I chose Van Gogh's Sunflowers as a painting because it is a painting that has always struck me. Sunflowers are my favorite flowers and they convey joy, happiness, and tranquility to me.
