The artwork depicsa scene from the ancient Greek mytiologycal battle known as the "centauromachy, a violent conflict betweeen the human Lapids and the half-human, half-horse centaurs. In this relief, a cejnatur is shown overpowering a fallen human warrior, capturing the inetense struggle and dramatic movement that define this legendary fight. Greek artist used the Centauromachy as a symbolmof subject, represeting the clash between civiloization and chaos, order and disorder. And the human effort to control violent irritational forces.
