Pour cette chanson, le groupe a fait appel à une chorale scolaire, composée de 23 adolescents. Another Brick in the Wall est une chanson contestataire qui dénonce la rigidité des règles scolaires en général. En 1980, en Afrique du Sud, la chanson fut adoptée comme hymne contestataire par des étudiants noirs protestant contre l'apartheid, mais le gouvernement sud-africain la censura pour motif d'incitation à l'émeute.
