THEHOLOCAUST
The Holocaust was a terrible time in history during WWII. Hitler targeted Jews, blaming them for Germany losing WWI in 1918. He also targeted Gypsies, homosexuals, disabled people, and dissenters. Victims were sent to concentration camps (big prisons). Kristallnacht (Nov 9–10, 1938) involved attacks on Jewish property. The event ended in 1945 when the Allies defeated Germany and freed the prisoners from the death camps.
Concentration camps were built by Nazi Germany during World War II to imprison millions, mainly Jews and other persecuted groups. Life in these camps was incredibly harsh, marked by starvation, forced labor, sickness, violence, and mass killings, especially in death camps. The war ended in 1945 when Germany surrendered in May, followed by Japan's surrender in September after the atomic bombs were used.
