The Feedback Sandwich"

The Top Bun (Positive): Start with a compliment to lower their defenses. The Meat (Constructive): Insert the difficult feedback or "meat" of the issue. The Bottom Bun (Positive with Recommendation): End with encouragement so they leave motivated, not defeated.

Each student has a card with their problem. You are the boss: You must also provide feedback the staff member using the sandwich method: Top Bun: Start with something positive ("I appreciate your effort on...") The Meat: The corrective feedback ("However, when you did X, it caused Y...") Bottom Bun: End with encouragement & recommendation ("I know you can fix this next time by...")

You are the boss: You must also provide feedback to at least 3 people using the sandwich method: Top Bun: Start with something positive ("I appreciate your effort on...") The Meat: The corrective feedback ("However, when you did X, it caused Y...") Bottom Bun: End with encouragement & recommendation ("I know you can fix this next time by...")

The Scenario: "The CEO Promiser" The Mistake: "The client was hesitating to sign, so I promised them a free 1-hour strategy call with our CEO to seal the deal. I figured he would be happy to help land such a big account!" (Positive: Sales drive/Thinking big. Negative: Committing executive time without permission.)

The Feedback Sandwich 🥪 Top Bun (Praise the Drive) "I really like your instinct here. You identified exactly what the client needed to get over the line, and you weren't afraid to use big leverage to close the deal. That shows you are thinking like a partner, not just a vendor." 🥩 The Meat (The Issue) "However, we cannot commit the CEO's time without checking with his executive assistant or me first. By promising that hour, you've created a hard obligation on his calendar that he might not be able to fulfill, which puts us in an awkward position if he has to cancel." 🥪 Bottom Bun (The Solution) "You have the right aggressive mindset, which I love. Next time, just shoot me a quick text before you make the promise. 9 times out of 10 we can probably make it happen, but we just need to clear the logistic
