What do we refer with "Passive Voice"?

• Passive Voice is a way to contruct sentences to emphazise the object/person that experiences or receives an action.
• Also it is used when we do not know the doer of an action or it is not important.

Structure of passive sentences

What happens with the verb?

• We add an aditional auxiliar verb (TO BE verb)
• (IS - ARE)
• The verb in simple present tense is changed to past participle
• EAT --> EATEN
• If the sentence is negative, we add the negative auxiliars
• ISN'T - AREN'T

Examples

• Students create a robot.
• A robot is created by students

• He plays basketball
• Basketball is played

• They build a house
• A house is built

• Scientits discovers more than 2000 species of animals every year
• Mora than 2000 species of animals are discovered every year
