Formative Feedback-Process Writing

The most effective way of improving learners’ writing skills it needs considerable amounts of time and takes students through a sequence of planning (brainstorming, evaluating and organising ideas), quick first drafts (leaving gaps or using the first language if necessary) and subsequent drafts moving towards a final product. The focus at first, for both the learners and for the teacher in giving feedback, is on content and fluency, and only moves towards questions of grammatical accuracy in the later stages.
