Petrol
Petroleum energy, often called oil-energy, is a non-renewable fossil fuel made from crude oil,formed from prehistoric organic remains over millions of years.
Petroleum is formed from the remains of tiny marine organisms such as Plankton, Algae and Bacteria. How did it happen : These organisms lived in seas and, when they died, they sank to the ocean floor.
Its uses are divided into: Fuels, infrastructures and raw materials.
Diesel
Is a fuel, a mixture of hydrocarbons, that gives a higher energy efficiency. Generates mechanical energy. 20% better than gasoline but ir has a lot of pollutants, that must be extracted before it reaches to a big problem. Diesel is less powerful than petrol 3 types of diesel : lighter ( for cold climates), thicker (more energy ) and viscous ( for power generators )
lpg
Liquified petroleum gas is a fuel gas which contains a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases, specifically propane, n-butane and isobutane.
LPG has a variety of uses. It is widely used as fuel or domestic or camping heating and cooking appliances. It is transported in liquid pressurized tanks to make it easier to transport.
India has significantly increased its household LPG consumption.commonly used in North America for domestic cooking.
Electric energy
- Generate by different means:
-->Atomic energy -->Thermal energy --> Solar/eolic/ hydraulic methods
- Widely used forms of energy
Electric energy
-->Static energy -->Dynamic energy -->Classified because of it generation resource
-->Coal-->Natural gas-->Petroleum-->Nuclear energy
-->Solar energy-->Wind energy -->Hydropower
Hybrids
A hybrid engine is a mixture between a traditional gasoline engine and an electric motor that work together to save fuel. Think of it as a dual-power system: the electric motor is mostly used while driving slowly in a city and when gas engines are least efficient, meanwhile the gasoline engine is mostly used for driving at a significantly high speed, all while the car recharges its own battery by capturing energy every time you break.
Full Hybrid (HEV): Can run on just electricity for short distances and charges its battery through "regenerative braking" rather than a plug (e.g., Toyota Prius). Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV): Has a larger battery that can be plugged into an external power source to allow for longer electric-only driving.
Hydrogen
- Called an energy carrier- Store and transport energy one place to another
- Not exist alone in nature- Has to be produced. From:
- Water using electricity
- Natural gas
- Important because- Allows renewable energy, like solar and wind energy. - To be stored and used when needed.
- Mainly used:
- Heavy transport
- Industry
- Electricity production
- When hydrogen used in a fuel or burned cell- Does not produce pollution
Only thing realased water vapor- So cleand and sustainable energy
Key types of energy:
1. Green Hydrogen2. Blue Hydrogen:3. Grey Hydrogen:4. Brown/Black Hydrogen:
- Green hydrogen:
- Clean way of producing power
- Made by using renewable energy- Wind or solar energy
- Not create pollution or either carbon dioxide
- Helps- Protect planet, and fight against climate change.
- Used for cars, factories ...
Black Hydrogen ( Worst )
- Most polluting type of hydrogen
- Made using- Coal - Bad for environment
- Creates a lot of carbon dioxide and air pollution
- This hydrogen damage the planet, makes climate change worst
