THE PROTESTANT REFORMATION
-The famous Martin Luther. -People didn't like corruption. -The church style was humanist. -There was many luxury. -Europe was divided.
CHARLES I
Reign: he ruled Spain and its empire from 1516 to 1556. Problems: he didn't speak Spanish and used foreign advisors. Election: in 1519, he needed a lot of money to become Holy Roman Emperor. Rebellion: Castilian cities started the "Revolt of the Comuneros" against his taxes. Victory: he won the Battle of Villalar (1521) and became more powerful.
The Habsburg Monarchy
-It ruled many territories. -It was difficult to govern them. -Viceroys and councils.
RELIGIOUS WARS AND COUNTER REFORMATION
Religious Wars:Conflict: between Catholics and Protestants in Europe.Reasons: religious differences and political power. Goal: to control more lands and territories. Council of Trent: Definition: the Catholic Church's answer to the Protestant Reformation. Doctrine: they stated that traditional Catholic ideas were correct. Reform: new rules to improve the discipline of priests. The Jesuits: Founder: ignatius of Loyola (Society of Jesus). Loyalty: they were very loyal to the Pope. Mission: to stop Protestantism through education and missionary work.

-People didn't like him. -He was a catholic king. -There were many wars. -Because of him, christianity spread.
Main conflicts about Felipe II
-The dutch revoult. -Some battles.
CULTURE IN THE 16th CENTURY
The 16th Century culture in Spain was important. For architecture, look at El Escorial. In Painting, El Greco was the main artist. Literature focused on mysticism. Also, Science grew because of navigation and exploring.
CONQUEST OF AZTECS
Hernán Cortés was a spanish explorer that had lots of allianzes with the enemies of the Aztec, so that's why the Aztec Empire finished. The Empire was coquered by him.
Tenochtitlan was also conquered by Hernán Cortés and it was fallen in 1521.
The Conquest of the Incas happened faster because Pizarro arrived when the Inca Empire was weak due to a civil war between the brothers Atahualpa and Huáscar. Pizarro used this fight to win, leading to the Fall of Cuzco.
Life in Colonial America
There were some groups who were Peninsulares , Creoles, Mestizos, Indigenous people and Enslaved Africans. The agriculture was very indigenous, cities were made up by a system called grid. There were also the encomienda and repartimiento systems, that consist of two fundamental systems in the laboral life native imposed by the Spanish Crown in America.

1525 (Pavia)Cuauhtémoc was executed on February 28, 1525.
1588 (Spanish Armada)
To overthrow the Protestant Queen Elizabeth I and restore Catholic rule over England.

1520–1521 (Comuneros)The Spanish, along with their crucial Tlaxcalan allies and other indigenous communities, managed to capture Cuauhtemoc.
1571 (Lepanto)A coalition of Christian nations led by Spain confronted the powerful Ottoman Empire.
1556 (Abdication) Holy Roman Emperor Charles V officially abdicated his thrones.
CONCLUSION
Carlos I and Felipe II saved the world in the 16th century because they conquered many places and they fight very hard to obtain what they wanted. They were catholic people and they also protected some places.
