Working in Spain
In terms of cultural differences in the workplace, my experience has been unique. As I work with essentially one other person, who is also American, socially the experience isn't to much different. However, this is my first experience working for a startup which I have found much different then my past institutional roles. When working in this environment, its important to flexible as tasks can concern multiple academic disciplines. I've definitely gained a lot of financial and entrepreneurial knowledge through the course of the first month and a half. Furthermore, the location is a coworking space which is a bit more relaxed then a traditional office. Another thing I've enjoyed is the flexibility of hours.
I would argue that the internationally of my work is the most beneficial aspect of this internship. I've gained knowledge regarding international tax and financial systems which will be applicable in my future roles as society continues to globalize. Should the opportunity to work outside the United States materialize in the future, this experience would undoubtedly boost my qualifications.

Expectation I came into this internship with almost no knowledge of international tax or the tax industry as a whole. I approached this internship with a clean slate in that it was a new experience for me.
Although it seems a bit soon to reflect on my experience, I have already gained valuable insight in my first couple weeks of work.
4.
Conclusion This experience will undoubtedly shape my future professional roles. Whether this be in terms of networking, skill acquisition, of straight up experience is hard to say.
3.
This is my first unpaid position I have held. I wouldn't say it's changed my work ethic or results, but I feel a bit more comfortable making mistakes. Overall, this is good as it helps me to learn, epsecially in an unfamiliar industry.
Responsibilites Continued
Outside of my work regarding property, I have been reviewing the sites ui/ux design and working with the company's founder on implementing changes. My work on property entails researching and documenting property law and tax globally. This information is then added to a spreadsheet and uploaded to the site. An example would be a spreadsheet containing property tax percentages, which is then used to calculate the tax based on a user’s location. After the data is rendered in, review is necessary to ensure the calculations are correct.

Professional Development
Through my internship with taixable, I have gained both technical and professional skills which will undoubtedly be invaluable in my future career. I have become increasingly proficient in excel, and therefore data creation. Furthermore, I have researched and documented international tax extensively. This exercise not only increased my knowledge in accountancy, but also in finance, a field I aspire to work in. Finally, I have fostered a close relationship with the company’s owner which has aided me knowledge of business acumen and structure.
