The Joseph Black Building has three wings (A-C) and five levels (1-5), and so room numbers begin with their wing letter and level number. The Quant-1 Lab is housed in the Speakman Lab (room A3-06) meaning it is in wing A on Level 3

What do I need before entering the Lab?

Pre-Lab Checklist
Pre-Lab QuestionsThese are the questions in your lab manual that check your understanding of the theoretical concepts behind each experiment. Check your Quant-1 Lab Moodle for any supporting material before each lab.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)You will need to bring your lab coat (100% cotton) with you to every lab, along with safety goggles (provided in Semester One). You must wear appropriate clothing and footwear for safety purposes. Disposable gloves are available in each lab.
Other EquipmentYou will need to bring your lab manual to every lab (provided at first lab) along with a pen/pencil, a ruler, and a calculator.
The Speakman Lab
The Speakman Lab is where the Quantatative-1 Lab takes place. Your first week is a skills week followed by 7 weeks of experiments. Each experiment has a dedicated location and you will rotate around these stations during your Quant-1 lab.
