En anglais, beaucoup de verbes au passé finissent par -ed. Il y a 3 façons de prononcer -ed.

-ed se prononce /t/ - Comme un “t” très rapide - Quand ? Le verbe se termine par un (p, k, f, s, sh, ch…)

Exemples : worked → /wɜːkt/ watched → /wɒtʃt/ stopped → /stɒpt/ laughed → /lɑːft/

-ed se prononce /d/ -Quand le verbe se termine par un son (voisé) (b, g, v, z, m, n, l, r, voyelles…) Exemples : played → /pleɪd/ loved → /lʌvd/ called → /kɔːld/ cleaned → /kliːnd/ Voisé : Si ta gorge vibre, le son est sonore → /d/

-ed qui se prononce /ɪd/ -Quand? Le verbe se termine déjà par /t/ ou /d/ Exemples : wanted → /ˈwɒntɪd/ needed → /ˈniːdɪd/ decided → /dɪˈsaɪdɪd/
